This is the Galt family, their origin and history with genealogical lists. Included in this publication are the Galts in Denmark, Scotland, Ireland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Canada and more. Thousands left their homeland whether it was to escape the sword or whether it was due to being heavily and unfairly taxed by laws which crushed their manufactures, or by the English Church System, having their marriages solemnized by Anglican ministers, being hampered by and excluded from office. Robert Galt was one who migrated from Ireland in 1709 to escape these conditions and came to Pennsylvania's Lancaster County area.
