A genealogy of the descendants of Peter and Elizabeth Drushel Kandel, 1783-1942. Elizabeth's father, John Drushel, was born while on the way from Germany to America. His mother died and was buried at sea. He was a black smith and horse shoer and at manhood he served in the Revolutionary War in 1775. It is said he shoed the horse of George Washington. Peter Kandel, a pioneer, resided in Walnutcreek Twp, Holmes County, Ohio. Peter lived from 1783 to 1849. Early Kendalls came to America, one being George, in 1607, during the settlement of Jamestown, VA.
