A Record of the Longley Families of Shirley, Massachusetts, and their descendants, Reprinted from Chandler's History of Shirley. The Longley Family was among the early settlers of Shirley, being honorable citizens of the community for many generations. We find coverage of the discrepancy of whether it was William or Richard Longley who was the original of the name in New England, and was settled at Lynn in 1635. His posterity have sometimes gone by Langley.
