By Ellen M. Merriam

"Compiled by Ellen M. Merriam for the John Lowe family circle"

John Lowe (1824- ) of Fitchburg, Mass., married Sarah Mead and had twelve children. When she died, he married Mary A. Russell, his brother's widow, and had five more children. The immigrant ancestor of this family was Thomas who came to Massachusetts from England in 1630. Most of John's descendants were living in Massachusetts when the book was compiled.

Thomas Low (d.1677) and his family immigrated from England to Ipswich, MA., as early as 1641, probably arriving on the ship captained by his father (John Low) in 1630. John Lowe (b.1824), a direct descendant in the eighth generation, settled in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Descendants of Thomas lived chiefly in New England. Includes constitution of the John Lowe Family Circle.

Includes Lowe, Low, Mead, Stone, Upton, Prescott, Adams, Brown, Conant, Curtis, Fairbanks, Hamlin, Houghton, Lamb, Merriam, Phillips, Putnam, Russell, Sawyer, Stevens, Taylor, Whitney, Willard, Wright and related families.
