Ancestors and Descendants of Colonel Peter Mallett, who lived from 1744-1805. From the Intro: This book builds a bridge from 1898 when John Mallett, the Huguenot, and His Descendants was printed to 2001. Much of the early phase of the family history from this book is used as the foundational information. David Mallet was born befoe 1650 in LaRochelle, France. He was the son of Jean Mallet. David died about 1691. He fled to England after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes. Another son of David was John Mallet, born about 1660/1674. Peter Mallett, son of Peter Mallett (b. 1711) and Mary Booth, was born in 1744 in Tashua, Connecticut. He married Eunice Judson Curtis, daughter of Jeremiah Judson Curtis and Mary Edwards, in 1765 in Stratford, Connecticut. They had two children. He married Sarah Mumford, daughter of Robinson Mumford and Sarah Coit, in 1780 in Cross Creek, North Carolina. They had thirteen children. He died in 1805 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Peter moved to North Carolina where he served during the American Revolution. He was Commissary of the 5th Regiment.
