Edward Pleasants Valentine 

This is a short account of the Mann family, Amelia County, Virginia records (in Valentine Papers) "The Edward Pleasants Valentine Papers,"  was a four volume compilation of abstracts from Virginia County records and family papers, was published in 1927 by the Valentine Museum. The collection is a major source for genealogical research, listing many families associated with local and general archives in Virginia. The Francis Mann will dated Sept 4, 1753 shows sons and daughters, and wife Elizabeth. A court case of Caroline Cty records shows Joseph Mann and Augustine Mann vs Steven Fortson in 1768, regarding freedom and bond servitude. This book serves as a valuable genealogical resource for understanding the history of numerous Virginia families.
