The definite history of the Barret family begins with Charles Barret, son of William Barret, who married Mary Chiswell. There are no birth or marriage dates given, however, it is recorded that Charles died in 1771 and Mary died in 1784. This book includes the history of the Barret family of Virginia as well as copies of wills and cemetery inscriptions.
