Descendants of Andrew Bird of Colonial Long Island, NY, 2nd ed. According to scholars, this family comes from Norman-French stock, the original name being Baiart. Allied names are Burd, Baird, and Byrd. Andrew Bird was born between 1645 and 1650 and married Mary (possibly Ewing) prior to 1670. They had at least six children. He was a member of Newtown Presbyterian Church.
