This is an account of the Joseph Carr Family of Rhode Island, with ten generations of descendants, and the records of the first family who settled in America. It is taken from the book by Edson I. Carr then continued.  Old variant spellings of the name include Karre, Karr, Ker, Kerrs, and Carre, Car. The records of the earliest Carrs from England who settled in America were four brothers Benjamin, William, George, and James. George and Lucinda (Davenport) came to America in 1620 on the Mayflower. William and Susan (Rothchild) came to America in 1621 with their infant son, George.
