HUGHES: The Family of John Joseph Hughes and Mary Lennon Hughes and the Families of Their Siblings. 2000
Kathleen Aponick & Mary Paula Baumann
Possibly due to political unrest and years of crop failure, like others coming to the U.S., in 1885, John Joseph Hughes, age twenty-seven, of Ireland, left his homeland and moved to the United States. His sisters and his parents, Edward and Mary Harney Hughes, emigrated with him. His brothers Patrick and Thomas had already gone ahead. His future wife Mary Lennon Hughes, had come to Boston in 1882 with some of her family. These are their ancestral lines, parents, siblings and their children. Included are Pedigree charts, brief biographical sketches, and numerous illustrations.
