Additions to the Memorials of the family of Hurry of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, and of New York, USA. with additions 1873, 1900. It begins with The Rev. Nicholas Hurry of London, his wife who was philanthropic and had executive ability, was involved in and advanced religious and philanthropic societies. His eldest son Dr. Jamison Boyd Hurry, was a physician in Reading, England. His next son, Arnold Eardley Hurry, was involved in Bengal Civil Service, held high positions as a judge in India, and was later sent by the English government to involve work in Siberia. He was a noted linguist. In America we see the third son of John, being Samuel Hurry, came to America and settled in Philadelphia in 1798. The surname of Hurry has been spelled variously Urre, Urry, Urray, Urrie, Ure.
