Jelke and Frazier and allied families that include Story, Stark, O'Hair, Faris, Clarke, and Chamberlain to 1931. The American family of Jelke traces its ancestry to the early seventeenth century , first found in the ancient town of Nordhausen, Prussia Saxony, (Germany) situated on the Zorge north west of Erfurt. For generations were engaged as roofers, builders, and coopers. Of this line the first to America Christopher Ferdinand Jelke, his father, John Henry Jelke, came later and lived in Ohio.
