  • 1200

By One of Them (Cornelia C. Joy Dyer)

A brief history of the Joy family to 1876, beginning with Thomas Joy who emigrated to America, from Hingham, Norfolk County. Records show he had two acres of land in the center of Boston, and land adjoining the Muddy Brook in 1634. It is supposed that he came in 1630, with the group that accompanied John Winthrop, first governor of the Massachusetts Bay.
