KASTNER - CASTNER Family of Pennsylvania 1901

Paul Kastner, also spelled Castner, with his wife, Mary, the founder of the family of Pennsylvania was among the early German colonists who settled Germantown, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. In 1690 he acquired fifty acres of land for "twenty pounds current silver money", situated on the 'main road', and was a portion of the estate purchased from William Penn by the Frankfort Company. In 1692 he purchased fifty more acres, and later two hundred more in Chester County. He was a Quaker and connected with the Abington Meeting of Friends. He resided in Germantown until his death in 1717.
