The name Kearns is common and given is a brief account of the descendants of John Kearns, who lived from 1804-1872 and his wife Margaret Groughbrough (1806-1891) They were married in 1828. They had nine children between 1831 and 1851. They resided in Iowa after leaving Ohio.
