The name Keck is High German and means brave or bold. This is a genealogical record and biographical sketch of the Keck Family with special reference to the descendants of Michael Keck, a Revolutionary soldier who came to OH in 1806. Michael Keck Sr was born at Lancaster, PA in 1760 and died in Ohio 1808. He was the son of Henry. He enlisted as a private soldier in Northampton Co., PA married Katharina Kern, born in Lancaster, PA. They moved to North Lima, OHio in 1806.
