  • 6500

By Willis Miller Kemper & Harry L. Wright

This 1899 publication contains the descendants and ancestors of John Kemper of Virginia. With a short historical sketch of his family and the German Reformed Colony at Germanna and Germantown, Virginia. They were married in 1904. Included are many photos, letters, articles and personal refections.

The name Kemp and / or Cämp is German kempen, field or place where an army is encamped, so the word means contend, fight, combat. This name has a rich history.

The Kempers immigrated to America in it's earliest years, settling in Virginia and other immigrants to New England.
