This short book is the Memorial of Samuel Reed and Matilda Thomas Kendall, and of their ancestors and of their descendants. According to early records found in Massachusetts Gen Society, the Kendalls settled on the borders of three counties of Leicestershire, Warwickshire, and Derbyshire, England. Recorded are some prominent Kendalls in England, including John, secretary to Richard lll, Supervisor of the King's Works in 1481. George Kendall was a noted Theologian. Edward was a writer, and other John Kendalls through the years held notable positions. In America the first record is Captain George Kendall to Virginia in 1606-07. The ancestor of the subject of this book, is through the line of Francis who came in 1640and settled Charlestown, Mass.
