KENDALL Family in America 1919

This short booklet contains a record of the Kendall family in America, with a focus on the first settlers of Massachusetts. Two brothers Thomas and Francis Kendall are the subject of this book. Deacon Thomas Kendall and Rebecca had ten daughters. His brother Francis married Mary Tidd in 1644 and he died at age 88, in 1708. Mary died in 1705. They came in 1640 and settled Charlestown, (later Woburn) Mass.
According to early records the Kendalls settled on the borders of three counties of Leicestershire, Warwickshire, and Derbyshire, and Westmoreland England. Some prominent Kendalls in England, include John, secretary to Richard lll, Supervisor of the King's Works in 1481. George Kendall was a noted Theologian. Edward was a writer, and other John Kendalls through the years held notable positions. In America the first seen record is Captain George Kendall shown on a first visit to Virginia in 1606-07.
