This the story of the Knowles family of Eastham, Massachusetts, with the purpose to present in geological form the account of Richard Knowles, mariner, and his  descendants to the fourth and fifth generations. He was in New England records at Plymouth 1637/8 and was married to Ruth Bower. It is based on the genealogies of the Eastham Families collected by Mr. Stanley Webster Smith and others. By the time New England was settled the name of Knowles or Knollys was well established in England.
