This is Errata and Addenda; with a complete index to both books which accompanies the History and Genealogy of the Knowltons of England and America. Knowlden means 'at the foot of the knoll". The name is variously spelled Cnolton, Knollton, Knowlton, Knowlden, Nolton, etc. The name is ancient as we see in the first chapter of the History and Genealogy of the Knowltons of England and America. This ancestral record begins with Richard of Kent b. 1553 married to Elizabeth Cantize in 1577. In the 5th gen we see Captain William emigrated to America 1632-4 and was married to Elizabeth.
