KYN; Descendants of Jöran Kyn of New Sweden 1913
By Gregory B. Keen
These are the descendants of Jöran Kyn, (spelled Kijn earlier) of New Sweden, derived primarily from a series of articles originally printed in The Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography issued by the Historical Society during 1878-1883. Jöran Kyn was born in Sweden about 1620. He came to America in the company of Governor John Printz in 1642. He was one of the earliest European residents on the Delaware River and was chief proprietor of land at Upland, New Sweden, later Chester, Penna. (and Tinicum)
