This 1888 book is a record of the Landis Family of Lancaster County. Part 1: The Ancestry and descendants that includes the persecution of Mennonites, their emigration to America, John Landis of Bucks County, and John Landis of Ephrata, PA.  Part 2: Growth of the family and genealogy. Part 3: Landis Soldiers of the Rebellion. Part 4: Landisville and Landis Valley.  Part 5: Directory of Living Adults (1888) and Part 6: General Odds and ends.  Johannes Landis and his wife, Katharina Schinz, were residents of Hirzel in the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland in the sixteenth century. They had at least three children and their son also Johannes (born 1553) was martyred, executed in 1614.
