LAPHAM family register; or, records of some of the descendants of Thomas Lapham of Scituate, MA in 1635. 1873
By William B. Lapham
This short 1873 publication provides a record of some of the descendants of Thomas Lapham of Scituate, Massachusetts, in 1635. Three Laphams were early settlers in New England. Two were in Mass and the other in Rhode Island. First was Thomas in Scituate prior to 1635. This book records his descendants. Second was John, a weaver from Devonshire, England, and settled in R.I. His house was burned by indians and he later moved to Dartmouth, Mass. The third was John Lapham, who married a Hollis, in 1671 in Malden. No more info is on him. Thomas Lapham joined Lothrop's church March 24, 1636 and was married to Mary Tilden in 1637. She was daughter of Elder Nathaniel Tilden, who brought his family, including seven children and several servants, from England to America in 1634.
