An ancient family, with it's origin in the union of two families, the D'Anyers and the Legh family. Piers Legh and Margaret Savage, the daughter of Sir Thomas D'Anyers, were married in November, 1388. He was a person of importance. This is a detailed account of Lyme Park, a historic estate in Cheshire, England, compiled from Legh family documents and other sources. The book covers the history of the estate from its origins with the Legh family, who acquired the property in 1398, through to the late 19th century. It explores the family's history, their connection to the property, and the architectural and social development of Lyme Park.
