John George Leipersberger was born at Schmerach, Germany, Aug. 5, 1693.
His father, Stephen Leipersberger, died May 25, 1693, before his son's birth. His mother was Ursula Leidig, and they were married on July 11, 1682. She married her second husband, Jacob Spruegel, in 1694, and lived at Ilshofen, Germany, where she died about 1730.
In the first church Book of Records of the Oley Hill Church, at Bechtelsville, Pike Township, Berks Co., Pa., there is a brief record of the ancestor and his wife, in connection with the marriage of a daughter, Anna Sabina, as follows:
Father: John George Leibesperger, from Ilshofen in Wurttemberg. Mother: Catherine. They came to America in 1732.
