Extracted from: "A Brief History of the Yeager, Buffington, Creighton, Jacobs, Lemon, Hoffman and Woodside Families and Their Collateral Kindred of Pennsylvania" John Lemon was born in County Antrim, North Ireland in 1761 and came to America when he was young. He enlisted in the Revolutionary War at the age of fourteen. He enlisted as a private in the Twelfth Pennsylvania Regiment about Sept 1775 and continied in service until 1783, when he was honorably discharged at Carlisle, PA.
