LINCOLN: The ancestry of Abraham Lincoln 1909
By J. Henry Lea & J. R. Hutchinson
The English and the American ancestry of President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, is displayed in this 1909 publication. In view of the poverty of his parents and his own early struggles against disadvantage, the conclusion was that he was of the humblest ancestry. In fact the exact opposite of this lowly origin of the Lincoln family was the case, as shown for centuries of ancestors in England and America. He is of direct descent from the parent stock at Hingham, Mass. This genealogy tracing Lincoln's lineage back several generations, details the lineage of his paternal line, particularly the immigrant Samuel Lincoln who arrived in Massachusetts in 1638.
