LOAR: The Loar Genealogy with Cognate Branches 1774-1947. 1949

This is the Loar family genealogy with related branches, from 1774-1947. This publication contains information on the origin of the Loar name, having various spellings of the name that include Lauer, Lorah, Loehr, Lore, Lower, Loer, Lohr. Jacob Loar Sr. came to America in 1737 and settled in Maryland. Jacob and Sarah (Eckhart) Loar had eleven children and shown are several generations of these Loar descendants. We see a copy of Jacob Loar's will, probated in 1827.
Also included is a look at the Germans in America, and why they emigrated from their homeland, with a focus on the Eckharts, especially that of George Adam Echard.
