This book provides a brief history and genealogy of the Love - Loomis family. It also covers allied families of Alcorn, Andrews, Noell, and Maxwell. The Love family traces their roots to the clans of Scotland, and in America as early settlers in Pennsylvania, and other states. James Love (b.1740) moved from Virginia to North Carolina in 1777, and then to Mecklinberg County, Virginia in 1792. Descendants lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Missouri and elsewhere.
