Oscar Sloan Marshall

The Marshall Family - providing a history of the descendants of William Marshall, who lived from 1722 to 1796. William Marshall  was born on the Emerald Isle. When he was young he emigrated to Scotland, where he met and married Elizabeth Armstrong. They emigrated to America after their marriage in 1748. They settled in what is now part of Adams County, near the Conecogheague Settlement. They had six children. The book is divided into seven sections. The first contains biographical sketches of William Marshall, his five sons and one daughter. 1884 edition, excerpt: William Mcgaughey, the oldest son of John and Jane (Latimer) McGaughey, was born October, 1797, in Westmoreland county; Pa., where he lived for more than thirty years of the first part of his life.
