A. M. Prichard

This 1933 publication contains the Mead family relations, covering the families of: Mead, Brown, Powell, Keyser, Kelly, Trumbo, Austin, Toler, and Prichard. William Mead lived in Cecil County, Maryland in 1681. His son John married Mary Abrell, daughter of Richard, probably of the line in New Kent County. They came to what is Louden County, VA, about 1730. There connections were made with the Browns and Tolers. Charles Keyser lived in Lancaster County, PA, where connections were made with the Kellys, Trumbos, and Austins. After family journeyed west they settled in Ohio and there the Powell connection was made. The Meads of Virginia descended from Richard Mead of Mursely, Buckinghamshire, by his wife Joane, through his second son, Rev Matthew Mead, born in 1629. He and his wife had fifteen children, of whom some immigrated from England to Bucks Co., Pennsylvania during or before 1727.
