Presented in a short booklet from 1863 is the Genealogy of the Messinger Family. Variant spellings include Messenger and Massenger, first of Gloucestershire. A brief description of their early history, the origin of the name, the arms and family land are included. Henry Messinger and his wife Sarah were residents of Boston prior to 1640. He was the first known proprietor, as appears by the Book of Possessions, information from the Massachusetts Historical Society. Henry and Sarah Messinger's children were born from 1641.
