  • 9500

By A. J. Fretz

Genealogical record of the descendants of Christian and Hans Meyer (Moyer) and other pioneers, together with historical and biographical sketches, illustrated with eight-seven portraits and other illustrations. Christian Meyer and his family were among those persecuted by the State Church, were Mennonites, and unable to endure, left their homes and fled first to the Netherlands. Around 1700 Christian sailed to Philadelphia. This family, of German heritage worked upon the foundation of society, made homes, reared families, claimed no warriors, no statesmen, nor great scholars. They sought the best land and built the largest barns and comfortable homes. They surrounded themselves with fine meadows, cattle, fields of rain, and orchards in Lancaster, Bucks, Montgomery counties of Penna.
