The Michener family in America, showing the lineage of John and Sarah (Moore) Michener. From various historians we see that some of the first Micheners in America appear in Philadelphia records as early as 1686. At the Friends Ceremony, in Worminghurst, Sussex, England, John and Sarah were married, with 45 witnesses present. Aamong the signatures of witnesses is William Penn Jr, Lucretia Penn, Guilielma Penn, William Penn Sr and more. John and Sarah Michener's first child is recorded in the Friends Records, Philadelphia Meeting as being born 2-24-1687.
