KURTZ: Descendants of Jacob S. and Lydia Mast Kurtz 1970
by Ruth M. Redcay
These are the descendants of Jacob S. Kurtz (1867-1923) and Lydia (Mast) Kurtz (1870-1961). Jacob was the son of Abraham and Barbara (Stoltzfus) Kurtz, settled in 1740 near Reading, Pennsylvania. Lydia (Mast) was the daughter of John M. and Rebecca (Stoltzfus) Mast of Morgantown, Penna. They belonged to the Mennonite Church.
Many of the ancestors left their fatherland due to persecution of their faith, coming to America seeking religious freedom to worship God according to their conscience. Included are related families including Beiler, Kauffman, Mast, Smoker, and more. Typescript.
