The focus of this short book is a broad overview of the life of Lewis Latham, of Elstow, Bedfordshire, Ca 1584-1655, with references to additional information sources. He was the Sergeant Falconer to King Charles 1, and this history of hunting with hawks and falcons in England wa at a peak during the medieval era, and continued. The making of a falconer involved considerable number of years in training.  Detailed material on Lewis Latham's life as a falconer is shared. His widow is mentioned but not extensively. Also covered is his ancestry and family, estate, marriage, children, the Chantry House, coat of arms, wills, and more.

The rejection of an article on Lewis Latham by a reviewer in 2010 is discussed, Dungan contrasts the brevity of the rejected article with the depth of genealogical and historical information present in his work, suggesting that his comprehensive approach offers a more valuable perspective on Lewis Latham's life.
