Abington Lore commemorates the 275th anniversary of the Abington Congregational Church in Pomfret Center, Connecticut. Edited by Bruce Hedman, the volume brings together historical accounts, personal memories, church records, sermons, photographs, and material concerning the church building and its community.

The book opens with accounts of Abington church history, including the meetinghouse, church bell, outbuildings, architectural symbolism, ministers, organists, Holy Communion, and historic communionware. Later chapters include memories of the Sunday school and church community, accounts of the church's history and ministers, historical addresses and essays, sermons, church records, grave sites, and photographs. Among the subjects discussed are the Reverend Walter Lyon, Reverend Charles K. Tracy, Reverend Bruce Hedman's long ministry, the Abington church's historic architecture, and the people who have worshipped and served there.

With its combination of institutional history, firsthand reminiscences, documentary material, and photographs, Abington Lore provides a substantial record of the Abington Congregational Church and the surrounding Abington community.
