This publication gives the descendants of Hugh Foulke who was born in Wales in 1685 and came to Pennsylvania with his parents in 1698. They settled in Montgomery County. He later moved to the area known as "The Great Swamp" in the Richland area, where he and his wife Anne (Williams) had a 313 acre tract of land. He was one of the pioneers of the settlement and a prominent family there for many years. He was an accepted minister of the Society of Friends and served Richland Meeting for thirty years. They had eleven children. Hugh Foulke died in 1760. Various spellings of the name are found in ancient European and early American records. The name derived from old Teutonic Fulko, the French Foulque or Fouque, the Saxon Falk.(Softcover)
