Gregory Baxter, one of the first settlers of Roxbury, Massachusetts, emigrated from England around 1630. He married Margaret Paddu and together they had three children. The Baxters of England have been held to noble positions of honor and trust, wealthy and educated in both England and America, and this book serves as a memorial of the historical family.
