This is the history of Adam Beard , born in November 1787 in Bedford County, Virginia. He was the son of David Beard, native of Ayrshire, Scotland. David lived in Virginia and fought in the American Revolution. After the war he settled in Bedford County. Adam fought in the War of 1812. He married Margaret Ennis in March, 1814. They had ten children. They moved and settled in what is now Southside, West Virginia. He died March 30, 1872.
