William Duffield Bell, son of Samuel and Susan D. Bell, was born in 1793 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. In 1818, he married Susan Harry and together they had eleven children in Hagerstown, Maryland where he later died in 1841. William established "The Torch Light and Public Advertiser", a successful business, in Hagerstown and is identified as an influential individual in the progression of the town. This book explores the genealogy of the Bell family of Hagerstown, Maryland with some additional information on the family.
