Old variant spellings of the name include Karre, Karr, Ker, Kerrs, and Carre, Car. The records of the earliest Carrs from England who settled in America were four brothers Benjamin, William, George, and James. George and Lucinda (Davenport) came to America in 1620 on the Mayflower. William and Susan (Rothchild) came to America in 1621 with their infant son, George. Included are parts of Susan's journal ontheir journey.
