David Willis

This is the history and genealogy of the Chittenden and Field families, with a focus on the descendants of William Chittenden (1594-1660). He was one of the company of twenty-five who left their native land of England religious freedom, emigrated to America and began the settlement of Guilford, Connecticut in 1639. Their first recorded act was signing the Covenant on board the ship, St. John, during their passage. He and his wife Joanna (Sheaffe) had four sons and six daughters. A history of the owners of the family homes and cottages of Chittenden-Field Lane is documented.
