This is the story of Colonel Thomas Cresap, a Maryland pioneer. He was fifteen when he came to America from Yorkshire. It was read publicly before the Cresap family Society, the public reading awakened a true realization of his valor, his courage, and his undaunted spirit. He was first resident of the Upper Potomac valley for the period between 1740 and 1780 during a critical time in the formation of America.
