This is the English history and genealogy of the Cresap family and of the founding family members in America, one being Colonel Thomas Cresap, a Maryland pioneer. He was fifteen when he came to America from Yorkshire, England. He was first resident of the Upper Potomac valley for the period between 1740 and 1780 during a critical time in the formation of America.
