By Tracy Campbell Dickson

This book gives the history and genealogy of the Dickson family and the descendants of William Dickson, born in Ireland on Dec. 25, 1728, and his wife Elizabeth Campbell of Cherry Valley, New York. They were among the first settlers to that area. It was the most exposed to Indian depredations in that region. William and four sons served in the revolutionary war and the massacre on Nov. 11, 1778. Their homes and barns were burned by Indians and Tories. One mother and her four children were carried into a painful captivity for two years. Related names by marriage are in the appendix.
