This is an Addenda to The account of the Diehl family of America giving the history, genealogy, and reminiscences. Samuel Diehl was one of the early settlers of Friend's Grove, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. He was born in 1740 and he and his family came to Bedford County from Louden County, Virginia in 1784. He did service for the Colonies as a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He died on his farm near Ott's Mill in 1828. Diehl is a German name. They were of the Reformed faith.
