In this Partial Genealogy of the Ferris Family, we discover that the family was from Leicestershire, England and descended from the house of Feriers, Ferrerr, Ferreis, Ferris. Jeffrey Ferries or Ferris is the first heard of in America, in 1635, where in Watertown, Massachusetts he was admitted a freeman. He later moved to Connecticut.
