FUTCH: North Carolina Palatine-Germans (Futch family)

  • 2000

By Evelyn Futch Smith

This is a collection of facts gathered by various members of the Futch family , among other sources, that the author compiled into one book. The focus is on the North Carolina Futch family - Palatine-Germans. For several years spanning the early to mid 1700s many Germans came to America seeking relief from persecution in their home land. German colonies were established. By the time of the Revolutionary War there were 8,000 Germans in NC, and they were determined not to be ruled by Kings across the sea, and lined up for the independence movement.
